Rebabaletswe Centre – Assisi Mission
At the Rebabaletswe (meaning: We are protected) Centre in Assisi Mission, children from 1 – 6 years of age from the Sisters’ surrounding farms are cared for who are disadvantaged in some way.
Either there is no kindergarten near them, or they do not have a birth certificate and therefore cannot enter an official institution, or they have a mild disability and there is no other support option for them.
A bus (provided by the municipality) picks up the children in the morning at the different farms and brings them back home in the afternoon. Except for this transport, the Sisters do not receive any subsidy and are therefore dependent on donations for daily meals and various materials. In addition, two toilets still need to be built and the outdoor area needs to be made play-friendly.
