“The way of life of the Brothers and Sisters of the Third Regulated Order of St. Francis is this: to observe the holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through a life of obedience, poverty and chastity.”
Our rule begins with these words, and our whole life is contained in this sentence. Listening to the Word of God daily and trying to put it into action is the engine of our lives.
“The Lord has given me brothers and sisters.”
Francis of Assisi
We live our vocation together with others and bear responsibility for one another in our community of sisters.
“Be lovers of God, of your soul and of all your sisters and brothers.”
Clare of Assisi
Our life is both contemplative and apostolic. Prayer, “being with him” in Eucharistic adoration and in everything we do, is the inner source so that our passion for the Kingdom of God does not flag.
“Therefore keep nothing of yourselves for yourselves, so that he may receive you as a whole, who gives himself to you completely.”
St. Francis of Assisi
We share our wealth, our talents and abilities with all – especially with the poor – in the deep conviction of always being the gifted.
“Let them say as a greeting:
The Lord give you peace!”
St. Francis of Assisi
Living together in reconciliation and peace is important to us. Dialogue allows us to move forward with each other. The greeting of St. Francis is also an incentive for us to live in harmony with creation, to do our part to preserve and protect it.
