A congregation that lives and works on three continents is therefore not automatically an international congregation. The provinces can also develop very differently and know little about each other. It is important to us that the sisters get to know each other and are able to communicate with each other, that they work together on central issues, that we engage more and more in a professional and spiritual exchange, even across national borders.

It is important to get to know and appreciate our different cultures. It is important to note that there are cultural differences not only between countries, but also within countries between sisters from different regions and different generations. And above all differences, it is important to live the culture of the Gospel more and more and to develop a congregational culture.

We have developed very different formats for this purpose.

English groups

Our congregational language is English. We still need to practise this language in all provinces. This has led to the formation of various groups that speak English at different levels, get to know each other and engage in spiritual exchange.

Online training courses

We regularly offer interesting lectures online for all sisters, which are simultaneously translated and where there is also an exchange of ideas. In 2021/2022, for example, we had a whole series on the topic of creation spirituality. As part of the development of the spiritual part of the Rule of Life, there were lectures on topics such as vows and internationality.

New Generations Encounter

The absolute highlight of this process was the meeting of the younger sisters for the New Generations Encounter over the turn of the year 2024/2025 in South Africa. Living, celebrating and learning together creates relationships that will build a future for the congregation beyond this period.

There are interesting insights in the travel blog

Formator meeting

The formators of the congregation meet at least once a year and, if possible, in person. They exchange experiences and work together on important topics. This strengthens the individual formator in her ministry, but it also helps to create more and more of a common culture in the formation.

Revision of the life regulations

From 2014-2025, we revised our Rule of Life in a synodal process. After 40 years, it was time to adapt the central document of the Congregation to the current situation and language. The change in the structure of the congregation also made a new version necessary.

Working together and listening to each other has helped us a lot in the process of growing together.

Exchange between the provinces

We have a long tradition of sisters from the different provinces living together. As of January 1, 2026, there are three German sisters living in South Africa and one South African sister in Brazil, as well as four German sisters living in Brazil. They have all committed to a long-term stay. Stays for a shorter period are also possible.

Transfer of the religious festivals

It is always nice when the religious festivals are broadcast on the Internet so that all the sisters can take part.

Meeting of the trainees

There are regular online meetings for the novices, once to get to know each other, but also for joint lessons. The juniors also meet again and again. Perhaps we will also be able to meet with the candidates in the future.

International Congregational Leadership

Our Congregational Leadership consists of the General Leadership elected at the General Chapter and the three Provincial Superiors. It is therefore definitely international. This cooperation at the highest level ensures that decisions are truly rooted in the life of the provinces.
