When St. Francis was asked what he and his brothers lived, his answer was simple: we live the Gospel. This also applies to us as Franciscan Sisters of Sießen, following in his footsteps. But in order to lead such a diverse Congregation today, we need a more precise description of our life. In the Order of Life, we find orientation for our spiritual life on the one hand, but also legal regulations on our structure, decision-making processes,….
From 2014-2025, our community completely revised its code of conduct.
The order of life has the following parts:
I Introduction and overview of the history
II Rule of the regulated Third Order of St. Francis
This rule applies to all Franciscan Third Order Congregations and was approved on December 8, 1982.
III Spirituality
This text was developed in a synodal process with all sisters and approved in August 2025.
IV Constitutions
The structure and key legal issues are described here. Approved on October 10, 2019 by Bishop Dr. Gebhard Fürst
